What are you saying? Health Services dismal? I thought it was better than US in many aspects. The cost is cheap for treatment (unless you have some uncommon disease. Since the system is churning up so many doctors, there is a lot of competition. Even in small villages you will find many doctors competing for patients. Maybe that is not true for everywhere, but that is what I have seen in my home state Haryana.
Also the education system may not be perfect, but kids don't have to go to private schools, because public schools have run out of capacity. There are problems like not all-around development, and not all kids doing great in studies. But that is true even in US, unless you are sending your kids to a fine private school (which by the way you can do in India, if you have money). JMHO

For the first time, the US moved to the 6th Spot in the world rankings by the world economic forum (Europe based Institution). The main reason was because of the huge current account deficit and negative savings (mainly federal deficit) which is a threat to the US competitiveness. China moved down due to corruption etc. India moved up but any further movement will depend on structural reforms, especially controlling the huge public service and red-tape and a creaking infrastructure - power, roads, ports, water supply - all of which are run by the government. The health services in large parts of India is dismal and so is the public education system (K-12). With the left firmly controlling the ruling party, deregulation is slow and insipid, and it is the private sector which is basically contributing to the GDP and Competitiveness. cool_guy_onnet1: I assume you have not applied AOS (485) for your wife. You will not be able to do it until the PD become current. You should maintain your H1 status, so find a new H1 sponsoring employer and transfer your H1. Do not use your EAD/AP, it will void your H1 status and you guys will have to stay apart.

Friends,
I know we have very good slides on high skilled immigrant's contributed to American economy and why they are necessary. One of the questions we are going to have to answer while presenting to our employer next week is
1. In the long run, How does America benefit from giving you and me GC?
2. In the short run, why should an employer care to fight for your GC?
Please treat this as a very serious effort to collect positive data points for an extremely important presentation to one of the leading proponents of high skilled immigration - if we have enough data points, this person might testify in Congress/Senate for us.
Core IV folks, please help us in this effort if you have pointers.

Doesn't hurt to record conversation though - the most that will happen is that the lawyer will say that it is not admissible in a court of law.
If the other party came to know that the conversation was recorded, they can counter sue.

I am working for company A and I have offer from Company B, I thinking of my options, Here is my situation
1. I have approved I140 > 180 days in actually 300 days
2. I have approved EAD
3. mine is labor transfer case and I used an existing labor that matched my job profile
4. Company B is ready to hire me in the same/similar role and are ready to give AC21 employment letter with same details as in my labor.
5. I have approved copy of my labor that was transferred and all other copies related to my case like I140, I485 application and Advance parole etc,....
Please give me some guidance on if I should be accepting the offer from Company B, I am concerned because my labor was transferred from another employee. I have worked for company A for nearly 4 years now and my GC is in process for almost 4 years, labor switch was done like 2 years ago.
Based on this explanation do you see any risk and am I missing anything here, in terms of getting specific documentation from company A application..

Where did this happen? What did they say when they left?
Do you have officer's names/contact number?
One thing you could do is that you can write to Senators and Governer about this and also the Media Reporters.
Talk to a lawyer as well if you are mentally worried about this.

I was trying to open a brokerage account with Bank Of America (Merrill Lynch) which was denied as it does not recognize EAD.

If PD is not current, will USCIS process your I-485 application?
NSC indicates that they are processing I-485 applications with notice date of July 30, 3007. Does it mean they have processed all the I-485 applications received (ND) prior to that date even if PD was not current for all those applications?

If the child is under 2 years old, and is accompanied by LPR parent upon their first return to the U.S. of the parent who is applying to re-enter as LPR and the parent is admissible, then the child should be issued an I-181 upon his/her first entry as a lawful permanent resident.

I will get official links for that. It is recommended that LPR parent has travel document that allows LPR to be outside US for upto 2 years and preserve green card status.

May be this is the general process, but I know of a case with RD in June last week and PD in 2003 Mar got approved last Nov/Dec area. It is an EB3 India case.
That would be quite surprising (but not unusual with USCIS :confused: ).
If the case has RD in last week of June then theoretically it had some windows where its PD would have been current
June last week - July 2 and
July 17 - Aug 17th.
But looks like the approval happened in Nov/Dec 07...nowhere near the possible PD current time frames I mentioned above. And also during Nov/Dec 07, EB3- India was 'U' ...so how did the case get adjudicated, and Visa number assigned during that time frame ??? !! One could not even argue that the case got adjudicated and visa assigned during July/Aug timeframes but got stuck for a while before the approval was mailed....'cos its about 3-4 months difference to the time the actual approval was mailed!
Should people who get such unusual approvals be worried that USCIS may realise their mistake later and retract the asssigned Visa numbers and put the case back into adjustment of status mode?? I hope not for the sake of sanity of those people who got the approval !
