    I do see in sec 203 how some one becomes eligible for "eb quota". I dont see ebdependents there. I see only eb primary.

    I am sorry, I am not interested to carry this debate forward for the fun of debating. I strongly urge you to read sec 203. Thanks for understanding.

    Do you see anywhere in INA mentioning that "EB-dependents should NOT be filed in EB-category". How is it a "mis-interpretation" then?

    Again like I mentioned before you can archive the same goal (which you care about) via a different approach.

    I know that IV core members are busy with their own jobs and helping with IV but I think this is an important discussion because it can be done with an administrative fix. If primary applicants are allotted GC's from EB 1,2 and 3 and dependents from FB2A it saves a lot of visa numbers. Somebody pls contact IV core directly and get them involved in this discussion.

    This concept is not unique and is being done for age out children before CSPA (Child status protection act) and for children of US citizens and permanent residents who get married before getting GC.

    These guys are not consistent. I should have gotten a 2 year EAD.

    Dunno who to take this up with.

    Sorry to hear they gave you 1 yr EAD.

    I don't know why USCIS just don't make their ( and our) life simpler by just issuing 2yr EADs. Deciding how close to current is close enough for 1 yr EAD is extra effort. If its a funding issue, they can give the customer the option for multi-year EAD and extra fee.

    SRC is always Texas , LIN is Nebraska. Also when you input the receipt number in USCIS case status website it tells you which center this application is with.
    can you tell by the images of cashed checks that were they cashed by TSC or NSC... or any kind of SRC# or LIN# on them to indicated whether it was cashed by TSC or NSC?

    We the employment based immigrant community to do some thing to help his family. May be by contributions, and help his family to get his benefits from the company he worked, any insurance, IRA, 401K etc.....
    Hiis spouse may not have the ability do these things from a foreign country. Some body from IV must contact his family now based in Sweden. This is my suggestion.

    How long you guys think it will take to get EAD and AP for June1st fillers..

    https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/jsps/ptimes.jsp has processing times for each of the service centers.
    Late last week, they've posted the dates as of June 15th. Unfortunately the dates have gone back like crazy (especially NSC).

    What wrong he did? Nothing illegal but certainly not the best practise. Atleast he has been insensitive to his former employer.

    what in the world makes this insensitive. h1b employees are not the bonding labours to the employers. If the employee leaves the company within 2 or 3 month after all the pain company had taken like spending for h1b filing training or providing placement, then that would be insensitive. After 2 yrs of serving, if the employee wants to look out for something better, employer shud make the exit smooter. And some else said earlier that its only employees who force employers for GC. i do not think so. If u see any advertisements posted by desi employers, the packages come along with GC process. they highlight GC point to attract the employees. yes it is true that most of the employees look out for GC for settlement. but that doesn't mean they force their employers who are not ready to do it. they might choose someone who offered GC process as a part of the package they r offered in the first. in such cases the chances of employers who do not offer GC process to get h1b's drop down drastically. thats the reason they offer GC.
    Also GC makes long term commitment between an employer and an employee.
    Everyone knows how long GC process is gonna take. So for all the yrs h1b's r holded to their employers, which is definetly making the employers business lot more easier. so why in the world an employer especially desi's wouldn't want to file GC?????

    I applied for EAD on 06/18/2008
    Receipt Date 06/20/2008
    Not received it till date!

    My friend applied on 06/04/2008
    He got 1 year EAD on 06/30/2008.
    This is because they were trying to approve as many EAD cases as possible, so that they can earn money next year too.
    They probably did this because its a fee based organisation.

    SORRY Fellas, I cannot send this out unless the provision for H1b nenewal be added to it. I know IVs main concern is reg the backlogged GC cases, however, I would request that future of the H1b should also be addresed. I now feel that even contributing to the IV was a mistake because you are not taking a broader view of this issue. Please try to include the clauses affecting H1bs also in your letters. Particularly simple technical aspects like renewing H1b beyond the 6 years period is a MUST and one of the things that can be MOST easily achieved if asked for.
    I have a bad feeling about IVs goals. Are you only concerned about getting the GC backlogs cleared? or are you going to be asking for H1b related issues to be addressed too? eg:- H1b renewal after the 6th year is an issue any moron could easily understand and pass. That has been there for many years and should continue for a successful H1b program. Please take care of that issue too. I dont see that included in the letter you have prepared to be sent out to all the senators. Please do that urgently. This is a very techinical issue and can easily be campaingned for. Pls dont ignore it.

    If the number 3 in the letter has something to do with H1b renewal, pls reword it and make it clear, however, Idont believe its related to h1b renewal atall.

    Please include atleast H1b renewal, one good thing about h1 that all of you have/currently are enjoying, to be included as one of your/our major demands. I am not asking for the H1b placement at different sites thing, that might be difficult to campaign for at this point of time, however, renewal needs to be done.
