My frined got receipt from TSC yesterday, his attorney sent package them on 31st , I think they got it on June 1st. He has not got finger printing notice yet.
I applied on May 18th 140/485 Nebraska, Got receipt on May 28 from TSC with finger printing schedule after 2 weeks. 140 got approved on 23rd May.
Friends, My friends is saying if the New bill approves then we might have to re-apply again, even wealready have applied 485, is this True? I am bit confuse, I aksed to my Lawyer he said your Labor and 140 is New , he cannot tell anything at this point. If the person is already applied and waiting for Card should be effected, any opinion?

When is the next congress session? is it in Nov/Dec (the so called lame-duck session). I am wondering about chances of having some immigration measures during that session. Being a lame-duck session, do congressmen can take up a serious measure like immigration for discussion (either CIR or SKIL)? If not - is it possible to introduce some highly desirable stop-gap measures like: ability to apply for 485 during retrogession; recapturing the unused visa numbers from previous years with soft country limits (as is done a few years back); and faster backlog reduction at BEC�s. In short I am wondering about our strategy for next 4-5 months; and is there a hope - however small it maybe � hope of getting something done this year; Or our only hope is with next congress?
Talking about next congress - I was wondering about what is the best outcome for us during elections? Does democrats getting majority in both houses is better for us or is it other way? Or a combo is best for us (democrat majority in house with republican majority in senate).

Sincerely, I dont think its a problem for anyone to send $100 or 200. Most of the people here are not seeing any action from IV core in the last 6-12 months. And we guess same to hope for even for future. Many guys in other forums are writing against IV saying they will no more pursue any campaigns as the dates of core members are now current and they will not do anything that may jeopardize it. I am also not seeing any action eversince I joined here. So what is the point. Why dont we fight our case oursleves. I know unity is strenght, but when its not there, doing nothing is a a bad idea. This is not to hurt anyone.

Is there any specific center we should be sending our 485 application. I have applied for I140 from Nebraska, can I apply for 485 in Texas...

Your rant in the post of all things, especially about the caste system seems like the half baked knowledge of a westerner bloating and carrying the caste "issue" to stratospheric levels!
I don't from what area in India exposed you to your experiences, but apart from the ridiculous reservations and quota system, there have been no caste related issues that I or my family faced while in western India. Be it working with people from all castes, making friends with them or really helping the neglected. This was the case with my neighbors or any relatives.
Looking at the numerous corruption scandals and making a hoopla about it or relating it tightly to the ancient family values (that India has) that one can give to the children is quite narrow minded. For that matter I can make a big list of scandals in almost every country. There were numerous scandals in 80's and 90's in India - that didn't affect the kind of right values my parents imparted in my siblings or I. I can say the same for my several friends.
Things are in constant flux in any country - while the divorce rate, teenage mothers, suicide rate was very low in the early 1900's in the US, it went up by orders of magnitude in the last 50 years. Teenage smoking was rampant in the 70's and 80's it went down dramatically after that.
People wanted to free themselves from the rigid value system and hence the 1960's and 70's hippie movement - what did they do - drugs, sex and alcohol - didn't go anywhere (remnants of which we still see in the US "culture") ! They turned themselves to service, philanthropy and spirituality and found a new way of looking at things - great things have happened thro' the initiatives of these Americans.
Having a static view of things is really claustrophobic and is a seed of frustration and negativity. Generalizing everything is even worse.
To understand the culture of India, you need to scratch deeper and assimilate it.
I couldn't have agreed with you more...When I meet people and they say Indian Culture is great, India is Gr8, the life here is boring and kind of nonsense I don't understand Y they are here of course for better life and money. Then Y keep on complaining about the things in life..no body is holding back others to stay here.

@least here I don't need to bribe of simple things like getting my DL license, House registration, Going and meeting a senator, legislative. I don't need to explain to 10 people around my house if I go out and come home late night. These are just a few... I'm 100% sure I would not spend as much as time I spend with my family now excluding the weekends. I can't imagine going early in the morning at 7.00 and coming back home at 9.00 PM watch TV, eat and get to bed. On top of that go to work on weekends deal with relatives, neighbors, colleagues etc etc. Of course How can I forget the CASTE SYSTEM which is becoming as some people call the nation has developed. I cannot imagine my kids growing i the environment where CASTE SYSTEM is so prevalent.
Well that is me and everybody have their own opinions. And good luck to all you want to move or stay.

I am a 2 July 2007 filer. Many SR's and calls later no FP.But I applied for EAD and AP renewal last week.I got the FP notice in mail today.
So I think that the renewal may trigger a FP notice.

How can you compare say for example a BS+10 yrs person with a kid just out of school doing MS. Doesn't jive. I think at somepoint both level off. Just merely having a MS degree doesn't mean anything without experience.

You are right in your observation. But, the SKIL Bill seems to place emphasis on people with advanced degrees. So, whether you and I agree about the Bachelors + work experience part or not, the fact of the matter is that the Bill exempts people with advanced degrees from cap limits.

GC holder's marriage (regardless of their stream) to indian citizen (derivative) will make the indian citizen wait for atleast 5 years ( based on current vb date for fb2a or gc sponsor becoming citizen in 5 years ). Why are you tying N400 eligibility with this ? regardles of the interpretation any gc have to show ( 5years presence, atleast 6+ months a year, 30 months etc) to become eligible to become USC ? You could be referring to a special and/or complex case of lot or large reentry permit ?
Expect for some rare special cases of long reentry permits, This interpretation I am suggesting will neither enhance their condition or make it worse for any derivative already-in or newly-entering FB2A.
I read some were 88k visas are available for FB2A. I think they are safe.
Look at the EB3 mess. Is it in any way fair for EB-primary to wait that long ?
